Vyaparpatri ("we", "us", "our") operates a local business directory that helps customers discover businesses and helps businesses get found. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Information We Collect

• Account information: name, email address, and phone number when you register, sign in with Google, submit a review, request a quote, or apply for a job on our Careers page.
• Business information: business name, address, category, photos, and other details a business owner submits when listing or claiming a business.
• Payment information: when you purchase a paid listing plan, payment is processed directly by our payment partner, Razorpay. We store the resulting transaction reference and status — we never see or store your card, UPI, or bank details ourselves.
• Usage information: pages visited, search queries, and the city you select, collected through cookies and basic analytics to help us understand how the site is used and keep it working correctly. This includes your IP address, from which we derive an approximate city/region for analytics purposes — this is separate from, and doesn't require, the precise GPS location the "Detect my location" feature asks your browser's permission for.

How We Use Your Information

• To operate core features — search, business listings, reviews, quote requests, and leads.
• To verify and moderate business listings, reviews, and claims before they go live.
• To process subscription payments and send related receipts and renewal reminders.
• To send transactional emails — lead notifications, approval/rejection updates, and similar.
• To protect the platform from spam and abuse, including via reCAPTCHA on public forms.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

How We Protect Your Data

• Your data is stored on secure, access-controlled servers, and access within our team is limited to those who need it to operate the platform.
• Payment details are never handled or stored by us — they're processed entirely by Razorpay, our PCI-DSS compliant payment partner. We only receive and store the resulting transaction reference and status.
• Passwords are stored using industry-standard hashing and are never stored or visible in plain text.
• Data is transmitted between your browser and our servers over encrypted (HTTPS) connections.

While no system can guarantee absolute security, we take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information from unauthorized access, alteration, or disclosure.

Cookies

• Essential cookies (first-party): remember the city you've selected so you don't have to choose it on every visit, and keep you signed in. The site won't work correctly without these.
• Analytics cookies (Google Analytics, third-party): help us understand how the site is used — pages visited and general usage patterns — so we can improve it. These don't identify you by name.

You can clear or block cookies from your browser at any time; some features (like your saved city, or staying signed in) will simply be asked again or stop working if you do.

Sharing With Businesses

When you submit a review, request a quote, or contact a business through the platform, the relevant details you provide (such as your name and phone number) are shared with that business so they can respond to you. We do not share your information with unrelated third parties for marketing purposes.

Data Retention

We keep account and listing data for as long as your account or business listing remains active, and for a reasonable period afterward to meet legal and accounting requirements. You can request deletion of your account at any time — see "Your Choices" below.

Your Choices

• You can update your profile details from your account at any time.
• You can request a copy of, or the deletion of, your personal data by emailing us.
• You can withdraw a submitted review request or business claim by contacting support.
